Here's a bump for what's shaping up as a great weekend.
On another note, I know that Roger was planning on attending - who knows, maybe he can still make it!

I thought we could turn this into a partial fund raiser for him: something like everybody contributes .10c for every mile we drive???? Or something like that? Just thinking out loud, but it would sure be nice if we could raise some money while having so much fun!!!

Ray or Mike, do you have an idea when you might be at Cold Springs for lunch? My wife and I would love to join you.

Also there is a lot going on in Solvang that weekend. Seems as if a Double Century is scheduled to happen on that Saturday in and around the area.

See everyone in a few weeks!!!!

    The weekend.

OK, so here's an update on the weekend activities....IF you have not booked your room, and want to JOIN THE FUN....book now!

Friday: We'll all try to meet up and caravan. Mike Sofka will lead the Orange County group, and hook up with others along the way. Destination: Lunch at the World Famous Cold Springs Tavern. ETA: 1:00 to 1:30
Then ON to Solvang to check in.

Friday night: Join Ray and I ETC at The Hitching Post in Solvang for dinner. Make your own reservations! We plan on commandeering the place! Great steaks, fries, ETC. Really a fun place. (Contact INFO: You can book online: www.hitchingpost2.com, or by calling: (805) 688-0676)

Saturday: Really shaping up! The 'Fun Run' starts around 10AM, with Paul Kramer leading on a 'Trask approved' drive (READ: NICE, LEISURELY, RELAXING CRUISE) thru some of the nicest roads in CA. We'll end up in Los Alamos for lunch (at the General Store, super-cool place, plenty of parking etc).

After lunch, Paul will lead those who want on a nice drive to the Riverbench Winery (plenty of 911 friendly parking, etc.)
OR, you can head off on your own. Plan on being back at the Hotel by 6PM for:

Pre-dinner Cocktails ETC in a Suite at the Hotel, generously hosted by Rob (356orobo) and his wife.
After cocktails, BOOK YOUR OWN DINNER - join Ray and I at Route246 at 7:30, the restaurant at the Hotel, (www.root-246.com or call: (805) 686-8681), or head out on your own!

Sunday: Don't forget, this weekend there is A LOT going on in the area. Take a cruise of local wineries as it is Harvest weekend, head towards the coast and check out the Clam Festival in Morro Bay.....or hang in the parking lot and head home!

    See you all there!!!!!
