Excellent story indeed Leon. But Curnow's correct, it's not a factory RSR or 4-cam so send it to the crusher. In fact, I think I'm going to send my two plain-Jane 66 projects to the scrap man today.

    Enjoy you new car!

Congratulations Leon. Your comments and opinions are so refreshing to read. Sometimes we see poor attitudes on the forums and it is disappointing. The forums are for fun and education. I especially like you comment about sitting it in the garage and looking at it. Too true. Have fun and keep us informed.

One has to figure that such a low VIN # coupled with the first of the LWB, and the new MFI S engine that the first few would be used for testing. Now, the October date that the car was delivered to the experimental department is very strange since it should have been completed several months before. I suspect that it was completed fairly early (in 1967 the first S models were completed in May), and the very early Raspberry 1972 without oil filler flap was March production. It probably had several months of testing at the factory before the October delivery. That delivery sounds like it was for modifications prior to being used by Ferry, and that he was the test driver. I'd really like to know the production # stamped on the dash below the radio.

Fantastic, can not understand those who do not think this car is special.....must be quite a feeling to be owning one of the Dr. cars.

This sounds like a special car to me. Well worth restoring. You might find some other interesting details as you dig further.

Thanx to all I am really enjoying your posts.
Will look into the color story. I intend on driving the car for a while until my other projects are done, but today I removed the home made aircon from the front of the car and took I also decided to start removing some of the excess electronic that litter the car. There is the additional side flickers, modern radio, anti hijack, immobiliser system and aircon. The brackets in engine bay are gone now.
Thanx DaveP I think I will get delivery date for 001 to 005 just to see what pops up.
I think it will be an awesome addition if the car was tested with huge old boxxes all over car.
Drove about 100 miles today just for fun
