    Cool

I love a nicely turned out classic 911 restoration. A car brought back to new after all these years. But, for a real "driver's" car there is nothing like an R Gruppe built up car for getting the blood going.

I think this is the kick in the butt that I need to put an ST or RS rear bumper on my daily driver, a composite long hood, '70 bare non-S front bumper, fenders, early directionals, Talbot mirrors, etc. Only then can I hold my head high drivng the White car as a true Early S, R Gruppe Bad Boy. With the '68 still parked this is my only hope for some respect.

    Kinda like this-

Ah Jens, invite some us hooligans up for a weekend and we can get her stripped down and back together just the way you want her. I'm thinking Garfield will be all over that program! For tools I have a sledge hammer, and an adjustable wrench - should be all set.

a sledgehammer and adjustable wrench????? that's more than we had on hand to put the motor back in....look how that project turned out!

minimalist modifications are all the rage these days!!

tools??? we don't need no stinkin' tools, these cars were built by hand....

    Talking Holy crapski!

Youse guys really blow me away. I know you're probly at least part-way sincere (sniff). My shop is pretty respectably complete, but Tom, bring the plasma cutter. Paul, you're in for duct tape and bailing wire. Tom, the stilletto will come in handy! Lewis, I'm thinking 46 Webers.

I'll get the '68 off the lift, stock the sub-zero with cold ones, filet mig, and swordfish. Heidi makes a killer bacon potato salad. And we can sleep 6 in a pinch plus 3 or 4 in the mini Porsche airstream.

Oh yeah! I can see this happening. Don't forget, we have the Mountain Road hillclimb right out the back door, so bring driving shoes. You already know that drive.

I'm inviting myself ... this sounds like WAY TOO MUCH FUN to miss.

    What should I bring?

I kinda like it as it is....... and I remember the hill climb, I recall it was pulling away from 2 3.6s that were skillfully driven.....

I had one of the 3.6's behind Jens and Heidi, but you can't be referring to me unless 'skillfully driven' is a euphemism for 'trying like hell to keep up'.

Jens, if anything actually comes of this I'm in. Just remind me what it was you said to the trooper in case I run into Vermont's finest......
