Hi Raj,
I believe the general consensus is that TTG lights first appeared on 1967 models. There are factory, Christophorous, photos from that period and the ealiest photo(s) show jury-rigged mounting. I believe from looking at the Picture Parts Manual that the grills with cutouts were introduced sometime in 1967.
For early 911s up to 1967 under the bumper lights were standard. In 1967, the "S" still had under the bumper lights. For 1967-1973 (and maybe after that too), the WIRING from the fuse box (not connected) to the front of the car still was present for a pair of lights (optional). These wires were unconnected at the fuse box and wrapped around the front fender support tube at their other ends. The HARNESS from the Fusebox to the SWITCH (and relay if used), however, was not present. If a FACTORY harness from the switch to the fusebox for an EXTRA, i.e. TTG or foglights exists(for those cars that didn't have them, e.g. Normal 911), I do not know the part number and have not seen it.
Now for the LWB cars, there is a factory harness for the switch, relay and fusebox connection but, again, not the SWB as far as I know.
For cars with TWO pair, e.g. Fog and Driving lights, I think the factory wired these special; they may have just duplicated the harness for the 2nd set of lights.

There was a great thread on the site with Schmidt's input, but it was lost years ago. I saved it somewhere...

Electrified ones,
One thing that is interesting on the '67S for example, and I am speaking of the under the bumper lights, the relay was NOT used (as normally relays often are) to reduce the current through the switch but rather to disable the fog lights when the high beams (I believe it was) came on.
I'd love the see pictures of the whole (TTG or below the grill lights) switch/relay harness, not just partial shots for SWB cars. Thanks.

Where are the cut out horn grills on the old picture above? What years did the factory provide horn grills that were cut out?
Had read Soterik post from 07 and saved a lot of money using his drennil sugestion. After seeing that picture, I wonder if the factory did'nt do the same thing.
Well, I'll need to go back to my old Christo's to get some pics, but the horn grill driving and fog lights for the swb cars appear to have shown up in late 67, early 68. I haven't done the complete research on this, but I will.
Regarding the horn grills. The very first swb 4 grill horn grill were sand cast, they didn't offer a cutout in this version. The later 2 screw swb horn grills were die cast in both cutout for lights and non cutout for lights, same for lwb versions. Interestingly the SWB cutout versions vary quite a bit from left side to right side, found this out when I had a pair restored.
I used to own a few of the "kits", and the interesting thing was that none of them offered a switch knob (swb or lwb), nor an insert. The SWB version had a chrome grill the LWB version only the black plastic grill. The SWB version didn't have a wiring loom, but the LWB version did.
I'll let Michael and Allen do the real details as I've not dug that deep on the wiring or lights in terms of rivets etc.
regards,
Eric

One can see the "jury rigged" TTG mounting, in other words, what's pictured is not true TTG yet. Pictured below is SWB grill with cut out. As you can see, the light bracket is not nearly so obvious as in the '67S price list picture above. Thanks.
