This is an older thread but I thought it was a good place to post this.

I'm in the midst of cataloging parts and I'm currently trying to figure out what lights I have. I'll post photos with what I think I know but I would appreciate input from those on the board more knowledgeable than me.

First, I believe these are TN4's, which were originally used on 914's and as rear lights on tractors. However, the bodies were black on 914 lights and these are chrome:

TN1-TN2 - The lines on the bottom half of the lenses seem wider than on some I've seen:

Edit: This look like what have been called the H-1 driving lights in another thread here, often used on Mercedes per the discussion, but evidently on Porsches too per the picture following this one:

Here's a picture from the other thread - these look like the same lights:

And here's the backside of that last one (which I tried to edit but I can't get it out of the previous post):

I don't know much about the first two, I think you are correct and those are 914.
The ??? I think is the driving light that is much wanted for 911.
The 6" w/ the screw in the ring is Mercedes. The last light w/ the screw is not Porsche appropriate either.

The light below the ??? text looks to be the 118 driving light lens. Any photos of the light assembly itself to confirm?

It uses an H3 bulb, at least that's what's stamped into the bulb holder.

    John,
Sure looks like 'em. And the back of the housing? The rivet pattern is of particular interest to light police (I'm not one )

Older thread but I just bought some TTG lights from Eric and bought brackets from Sierra Madre but didn't know what size bolts it took to mount them so I pulled out my trusty spare parts catalogue and bam you have your answer. Here it is for reference.

    Bolt hex head M6 x 12 DIN 933-8.8 verz.

    Hello,

Found a black switch doing nothing under the tachometer on my 69t?
It have wires going to it near the ignition but nothing from bulkhead side.

What is this normally used for?

I have to pull switches which are redundant and wondered if for fog lights?

    Thank you

I just completed the installation as well. Your research is 100% correct, but unless you have at least four hands you will go crazy trying to line up the holes with bolts that short. Make life easier and use M6 x 25 - there's lots of room for the excess length when the bolts are installed and you'll be the only one to know. I had the best luck threading the front hole first, then fishing with an awl for the upper. Being right handed, it was also easier for me to install the right side unit that the left. By the way, not all Porsche are created equal. My '69 is a 'no-hit' example, yet it required a 1" spacer for the large light mounting bolt (No. 46 on the parts diagram) on the right side but none on the left in order to achieve a proper fit. Your results may vary. Good luck and I'd be happy to offer further advice, pictures or commiseration as appropriate.

Funny, I found the opposite way easier - upper bolt first because it's easy to slide the bracket around till you *feel* you've hit the bolt in the bracket hole... then (upper remaining loose) the front one is easy because you can shine a flashlight and see... 2 minutes per side after my third attempt (don't ask, I had the lamps reversed and loose the first times). So many ways to skin that cat - Totally agree with you on longer bolts too ! I like how solid this feels vs my previous "pinch the grill" installs...
