    Concorso Italiano 2010

Here's some pics from this year's Concorso Italiano, held at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, just west of the track, on Highway 68.

Haven't been to this show for a while, and the venue's changed . . . more than once. Nice enough location, I guess . . .

    1) 'The first act of violence' Welcome to an Italian Car Show. Love that fluid trail.

    2) We've all been there, I know, but really ---- what are you looking at? Just put a paper bag over your head, wait for Triple-A

    3) Looks like some couch time, Buddy. Serious couch time.

It's an Audi. Shouldn't be that hard. At least it should last longer than the ones above.

    Well . . . maybe.

But can you imagine trying to find someone to autoclave a replacement CF bit for this bruiser in, say, 20 years? Bad enough getting things to 'fit' and 'line-up' properly . . . now you'd have to match the weave, as well.

    Pegaso

A Spanish exotic. From the 50s. A bit precious, I suppose, but, like this Bugatti I heard fire-up on the green at Del Monte years back --- a genuine shock to hear run. This car sounds amazing!

God help you if something breaks. Zero spares. You break it --- you make it!

    More Pegaso

This is the kind of stuff The Concorso was famous for . . . I mean, where else would you see this sort of thing? I was hoping to see some wooden Italian speed boats but there weren't any. (They were over at The Mecum Auction, fercryinoutloud!)

Anyway, I've heard stories about what kind of 'nads it takes to jump into a project like this, much less pull it off, never mind to this level. --- and actually drive it!

    Guy deserves a medal.

    Love the bazooka pipes!

    Some Bikes

Not as big a collection as I recall from past shows --- that was what I loved about The Old Concorsos --- cars and bikes and boats.

    Ghibli

    Coupe and Spyder

Interesting the way Maserati engineered their accessory drives . . . all kinds of pumps and drives and what-not, mounted on castings, then cantilevered waaaay out in front of the engine.
