Yes, this appears to be the same item as Lakewell. Harald @ 911intern has stated that they are in fact the same. There has been some concearn over the speaker grill not being the correct size, but Harald has stated that they can make the dash with either a 24,5 cm x 11,0 cm or 25,5cm x 11,0 cm grill.
Looks nice and solid. No comments on fit from anyone that has tried them though.

I haven't ordered a repro just yet. I have what is supposed to be a great original dash coming to me very soon. If my original dash doesn't cut it, I'll be buying the repro.

    Lucky you!

I'm also looking for a nice dash.
    If I can't find one, I think I'll give the 911Intern repro a shot.
Please let us know how it turns out for you.

I'd like to know as well. Clyde Boyer, one of the Aus 901 guys, is going to Essen and will be investigating. He's been around early cars a while and is fussy so with any luck we might all get a bit more feedback. I'm surprised no one seems to have tried these yet.

I am really surprised that with all the picky eyes on this forum that no one has noticed or commented on the fact that the speaker holes are not in a square pattern in the replacement grill like the original dash. Check it out! Never the less we need to find a solution to the dash delima.

Not sure if he is listening in on this topic but I nominate Eric to come up with a good replacement. Seems like this is one of the most visible defects most of us deal with and would be willing to pay for a viable solution.

The Lakewell/911intern dash does in fact have the speaker holes in a square pattern (see post 15 of this thread). The bad pattern is actually in the current Porsche replacement available through Stoddard etc

I'm kind of surprised that nobody has bit the bullet and put up the $1K for the dash in order to save us all from making a bad purchase. I'll buy one as soon as someone else risks their own $$$ first
