    Stone Gray Example?

Does anyone have an example of an early 911/912 painted in stone gray, code 75741. Thanks!

Not 75741 as such, but 5710 may be the same

Out of 2500 911 & 912 this is the only one I can find in my database.

    Thanks

Many thanks for the information -- much appreciated. Now I just need to find code from DuPont. They don't appear to have that one.

I would suspect they would have to color match it.. i couldnt find a conversion when i tried to get some burgandy red 6808 to do my cibies. it seems that unless you go with glassurit, no one has the old paint codes or conversions.

if you need a paint sample, you may need to reach out to wilhoit.

    Thanks All!

Peter, Do you know if the references for paint blending are unique to Glasurit's system or if any paint manf can use these codes to blend?

    Stone Grey RHD 901

    John,

I belive my 901 in the pics may be the only known early car painted in 5710 Stone Grey.

PM me if you need any info. The actual colour is quite darker than the pics linked to show. FYI it's interior is green.

    Cheers

    Stew.

    Found these...

    Dupont codes/colors - 1958-1961 Porsche

    http://pc.dupont.com/hcl/data/Data/F...001/008457.jpg

(When you open this URL, click on the screen to enlarge the image)

(It appears that the Dupont code for Stone Gray was IC-299...at least in Canada! I did not quickly find a reference to it, though, on the Dupont web site. At least it's a start!)

    Dupont codes/colors - 1962 Porsche

    Dupont codes/colors - 1966-1971 Porsche:

    Dupont codes/colors - 1973-1977 Porsche:

Still looking for data to match Glasurit components with Dupont components...easier said than done!

I believe that it is nearly impossible to cross tints between manufacturers. There does seem to be the possibility in the case of the South African supplier that copied another brand, but even so the liklihood of using identical tints is remote.
In John's case, I believe that he has no sample to match unless Stewart is able to provide such a sample.
