I'll leave it to my new friend John Z Goriup to post better photos but here's a teaser of the run up to Sears Point. Perfect weather and a great group of cars (and people)... Thanks to Cris and John T. for organizing this outing.

Great to see a busy RG paddock. Missed it this year - hope it wasn't the heatwave we had in 2009, when the grease started melting out of the camera lenses.

Bob, be sure to let "Robert" know that giving your photos that "fading dyes from old slides found in the back of the closet" look only serves to solidify your fan base. Thanks for dragging a few of us from this Board along to play.

    Sears Point

    Hi All,
I saw a lot of fellow early 911,914 and 356 have attended.I had been talking earlier this year when it was clear that Ventura didn't happen about the possibilities we would have to make a joint event.Porsche-Races-Technic-Show at Sears point.THat way we are onnthe WestCoast, our frineds form Oregon or Washington as well as from Nevada and SoCal could all meet up, have drives through the wine country-good food -good drinks and we would have the opportunity to see Porsches race, tae a lap or 2 on the course, have a vendor area and meet our friends .
What is your take on it, I am willing to do the organisation advertising, website etc, if we have enough Vendors and commitment from the R-Gruppe,Early S,912 Registry,Rennsport and the 914's we could pull off another event like Ventura with a different spin and see our cars in action. And with the help of the CSRG and NASA we should be not shouting at the stars...

    Hey guys,

Great day at the track! Nice to meet some new faces. The Beer Brats were a hit. Next time I'll start a little earlier on the Q. Big thanks to John Thorton for handling the corral and money logistic! You da man!!! Cris, thanks for putting us on the same page!

Sefan, I like your idea! I think the biggest "issue" with Sears point is lodging. While there are a few places in Novato and Peteluma, they're a bit of a drive.Sonoma and Napa are kinda spendy. Besides that I'm with you. Best bet may be to tie in with either the Wine country classic or the next CSRG event. Lets see what other folks think. This could be huge!

Daunting request Bob! In lieu of spending any time post-processing I'll put a few more up just as they came out of the camera. For some reason I didn't get all that many pics, despite lugging around my camera. I think I was still burnt out from the 300+ shots I took down in Monterey. If you look closely you'll find me reflected in one of the cars.

    3. I don't know who belongs to this 356, but this is the second time I've seen it and it blows me away.
    4. View from the paddock, including John Gray's 2.2, my car...
    5. Though the last pic isn't a P-car and it's just a snap, I loved the intake trumpets. Massive and everywhere!
