New muffler for the race car

I thought some of you may be interested in my new muffler setup. This is on a 2.0 litre 69E that I race in a limited modifications historic racing series down here.

These systems are normally done as dual out with a cutout in the bodywork either side. Mine was modded, at my request, to only exit using the stock cut out on the passenger side and using a (mostly concealed) dump pipe under the bodywork on the driver's side. Looks very stock from behind.

According to the dyno, we lost a few kw at the top end but picked up about 15kw (at the wheels) in the 3000-4000 range. The previous system a large muffler on each header bank (acting a lot like megaphones). The headers are the (George Nabel?) units that Steve Weiner recommends.

The car is still street driven and from a sneaky test feels a lot quicker overall.

The system is also not too loud until about 3000 rpm then it just screams...

Off to a race meeting tomorrow for a proper test!

Easily one of the coolest tow hooks I have seen. Great outlet solution too!
