    1969 T/R or S?

Can somebody tell me if the 911s raced/rallied in 1969 had the same two engine configurations as the '68 T/R? Does the Sport Purpose manual shed any light on this?

    Nick,
There was a very longwinded and inconclusive thread a while ago on this topic started by Matt here in Sydney iirc.
The race motors and some rally motors would have been different in '69 from the '68s,in using the MFI setup where homologated.I suspect the rally motors for both years would have used carbs for practical purposes.
My personal take was that the (then) small Weissach facility was so busy with building the 917s and 908s that there was little time to spend on a series customer GT class 911s.
Entrants such as the Kremers were left to their own devices and the CSI rule book to be competetive so there was no real definitive 911S as such.
I am not a keen T/R student but would it not have come with a 906 style motor ?
    I could be wrong,though ...

    Cheers,
    Dennis. .
