    Smile Route Less travelled

No question that the Jackson/North Conway area is terrific for the sights & great driving roads...but any thought given last year or this to The Balsams as a hub spot? A little more remote, less traffic, and the Rte 16 stretch along the river approaching Errol allows some serious 'legroom'.
The Balsams is up for sale, which might impact any plans. PCA North Country has done a couple of weekend events there, accomodations good even if a touch dated, but the food is spectacular. No affiliation, just offering a thought.
But either way count me in for 2011.

Hank, actually we thought about the Balsams. The problem is that a lot of people are driving quite a way just to get to the rally, (NC, Philly, the Midwest) and that little extra driving time was a killer. It's a beautiful spot though, and we will probably have one of the days driving routes going up that way.

This is a great idea of having a base hotel for everyone to meet over the course of a weekend. I've attended the EuroBike Meet at Sunday River Maine at least 7 out of the past 11 years with great success. It's based on the same idea that Jim is talking about with planned out routes for attendee's to follow.

You can put me on the list

No question it is remote, and certainly appreciate that the extra hour would be a drag after a long trip. But the hop over the notch is a rush!
    Cheers...

Jim, I remember the MWH as we drove by - beautiful place. I actually snapped a pic that turned out pretty good considering our pace. I just checked out their website to confirm that it would be up to snuff for our MW Chaptermeister. White linen table cloths, fine dining, 300+ thread count sheets, marble bathrooms, fine oriental rugs, spa services - sounds just about right...

Lewis you swore us to secrecy and now the legend has gone untold..... The legend of the Reverse Engine Drop Rally and what happened along side that lonely mountain road ........ some say it is but a myth or fantasized folklore but there are those..... those that were there......those that saw.....
