    Reproduction Solex air filter assembly

    So lex talk about this.

    Stoddard has introduced a repop.

Would you rather pay $5k for this and throw a coat of paint on it or pay a little less for an original and spend more on prep/paint?

Personally, I think they jumped the gun a bit. However it appears to be a stunning effort. Kudos for taking on such a project.
If they really want to contribute to early 911 preservation how making the 901 style heat exchangers?

Not sure if they actually reproduced it or are trying to sell a used one with a poorly worded ad? Looks like they have perfected patina spray also.

Looks like an old original one to me.

I saw one at the Lit last year. They say they are hand made by a guy in Germany. THe one I saw looked spot on. Frank if they truely are hand made I dont see any reason why the guy cant pound out a 901 style?

If they are "hand made" then it would stand to reason that the snorkel face is a re-purposed early Weber piece.

Now this program is making sense: NO capital investment for tooling. Just keep one in stock and pay some German elf in a Black Forest sweat shop to knock them out one at a time as they're ordered.

I was going to try to initiate an order for 2 to see if it would cause the Stoddard web site to crash...

Please don't tell me you're one of those Aussies without a sense of humor?
