    Matt Drendel 1975-2010

    Matthew Clayton Drendel, 35 of Hickory passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence.

    Born May 31, 1975 in Catawba Co., he was the son of Frank M. Drendel and the late Marilyn “Pinky” Marie Beste Drendel. He was the owner and operator of Heritage Motor Werks LLC and a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

    Survivors include his wife, Shana Hefner Drendel; father, Frank M. Drendel; son, Zachary Matthew Drendel and daughter, Alyssa Leigh Drendel.

    A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

    Memorials may be made to the Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or to Humane Society of Catawba County, PO Box 63, Hickory, NC 28603.

    The Drendel family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 940 29th Avenue NE, Hickory, NC 28601.

    Wow...this is truly a tragedy. I only knew Matt from Rennsport events, he was always excited to talk about any of his cars that you had questions about. Any one know any details?
