looking for the desirable & highly collectable cars( not including gt's) in the 914-6 production line, look for one of the first 52 914-6's produced, these cars have different front fenders, different sheet metal, Cars #0011 & 0012 are known cars with many protype parts. front bumper rubber mounting is different, with holes in the body for mounting, gap between bumper and hood different. gear box is a modified 1970 911 5 speed, not a 914-6 production gear box. dash is slightly different, not shure how long these protype items continued into production line, but for shure the fenders did go thru # 52 production car, looking @ 914 world there seem to be be 11 examples existing.

    Eric,

Really like the idea of the rally plate, BUT your car looks so incredible as it is ... (And no Porsche crest on the hood, thank you!) so how about mounting the rally plate where the front license plate would go?

Agreed on the crest. The plate up front is tough with the GT cooler.

Eric- is the plate a permanent addition or occasional? Occasional, you put it on the dash or attach with a more temporary mount, such as under one of the hood hold-downs. of course at high speed you wouldn't want it to lift!

    Umm... Fiberglass.

I think it stays off for now. Every place I stick it just seems to make it cluttered.

agreed on the leaving off the rallye plate.....

also on the correct lack of adornment on the hood crest.
This is how they were born

I have the same color teener and no hood crest, and would go to my deathbed with it left as it was originally produced. Cannot tell you the number of people that come up to me and ask where it is, why its not on, why don't I just resist the urge for purity of purpose and go ahead and put one on, etc. ad nauseum.

I give you a thumbs up for leaving it as it is......it LOOKS GREAT !

The hood crest thing always (sortof) pissed me off. Like the Dino, Porsche never thought highly of the 914 or, highly enough to crest it. I'll be damned if I'm going to advertise it there now. Almost like thumbing my nose back at them. Not sure if any of that makes sense but... there ya have it.

That's Saturn/Chrome yellow BTW. Same color had two names over the course of the production runs.

THE first thing I did was remove the huge ass Porsche sticker from the car. If ya don't what I'yam, then why should I advertise it?
