Have been watching it... plenty of bidder interest, pretty clean looking car that got the quick-spiff & flip treatment. As you say, there's
LOTS of detail work to do, but would be worth it. Question is what the final bid will be, and will it stay in the US or go back home?

The project I bought from Gumby last year appears to be mostly OG paint on the tub & doors, but hoods are replacements.

But no, have never seen an unrestored, running & driving OG teener.

Raj, years back Brian & George at Eurosport were maintaining a preservation 914-6. It was Irish green. Eurosport in Bensonville, IL. That's all I know and I don't know no more...

Eric, how long ago did they have an Irish Green survivor... would love to know where it is now. And regarding the latest Hemmings...
these stories always seem to have an apologetic tone about VW's involvement, but it was perfectly natural for VW and Porsche to
partner. I remember lusting for the 914 (especially a six), digging the styling and wondering why everyone else hated them.
Most car mags at the time raved about handling but reviews amounted to damning with faint praise.

John, that project is as dry, straight and solid as they come, but a looong way from nice!

    Original Paint 914-6

Here is my 1971 914-6. #0362, I'm the original owner purchased new (dealer demo) in Feb. 72' I used to Auto-X it quite a bit in the S.F. Bay Area with quite a bit of success, we were class champion for several years. She currently has 59K+ original miles on the odometer and I am returning it pretty much back to stock after acquiring the sister car she's parked next to. That would be a Stoddard built 914-6 GT from the early 70's. Not original paint. We have an appointment with a detail specialist for #0362 to color sand and polish the paint to try and bring the snap back to the paint. I'll update with photo's after the spa treatment...

Russ, probably 16 years ago. You can call and check with either of the Weathered Bros. they would probably know about it.

Bernd, beautiful as it is... can't wait to see the detail. And... yes, please, more about the Stoddard car.

Beautiful car, Bernie... looking forward to detail photos. Which car has been repainted?

Raj, looks like a beast for sure, but what is going on with the nose of that thing?!?
