    Franz,

    Have you seen, or do you have photos or other information about, the Webasto heater used in the 904? From the factory 904 parts manual it appears to be an earlier variant of the type used in the 64/65 911s. Possibly 1963 or early 1964 vintage, as the parts manual I have is dated March 1964. Main difference is the heat exchanger is in the housing 180 degrees out from the 911 units - i.e. 904 exhaust is where the glow plug is on 911 units. The fuel metering unit is also configured a little differently with the pump at 90 degrees to the round head and the 3rd part of the early 911 unit (not sure what it is called) appears to be combined in the main heater housing and run off the same motor as the squirrel cage blower.

    Any information you could share would be appreciated.

    do you have any of the early version Beru 129G(short) glow plugs available and or for sale?
    i am also looking for a bimetal spring for my Webasto heater # 1981
    I am at the end of a restoration on a 1965 911 vin # 301817.
