    Early Door Stop Parts

    I was trying to rebuild my door stops in order to retain the correct early style stop. I had a broken spring on my drivers side and had picked up a 914 stop for parts. I think a new lever arm may help; since the one spring had broken the lever wore on an angle and upon cleaning and re-lubing I still have "clicking". The third thread below suggests that the pin that attaches the arm to the body is the issue.

    Any ideas where to get new/repro parts?

    I have found the following threads;

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ight=door+stop

    Thanks,

    I'm afraid there aren't any repro or new parts for those. All you can do is what you're already doing,,,, buy up old parts and repair replace as necessary. I do the same thing to keep the originality, and the superseded stops aren't very good.

    Just to follow up on this, I see that Stoddard has this rebuild for the early style door stops. Though, it seems the arms are missing the knurling at least in their supplied photo. Has anyone purchased this kit?

    Per Ricky's post above I do see that my arms do have an oblonged holes in them and this may be the cause of the clicking; I may bush them or go for the rebuild kits above if there is knurling...

    I have a pair of springs from this kit that I didn't use. You're welcome to them.

    Thanks for the very kind offer; I am currently covered in the spring department from donor 914 parts; I think my arms are in need of replacement or at least further refurbishment.

    Pss,

    Thanks for the link; I looked over the parts for sale and the one arm looks to have the end a bit oval-ed, like the arms I have at the moment.

    reviving a very old thread, but still current! Does anyone have experience with the repair sets of Aase, or Stoddard, for the pre-73 door stay 911.531.037.00 ?
