Thread: Catalog of Porsche Greens

Finally got around to photographing the color tag of my '78 911SC (see post #24). I am told it was a VW color ordered as PTS by the original owner of this car. VIN is 9118201033.Name: IMG_0327 (1).jpg

    62162 Velvet Green

I noticed we don't have a good sample for 62162. I found it hidden under some of the trim on my resprayed 67 912.

I will try to provide pictures with better lighting in the future. Velvet Green is the darker of the two colors.

I confirmed the Porsche velvet green (62162) is not the same as VW velvet green (L512).

See below. The Porsche version looks more blue green than the more military green VW version.

The car is about to go off for paint/bodywork and will be color matched to the original paint.

It's interesting that my CoA also list "Metallic Paint to Sample/99" for the paint code of my Green '73, but the door plate is stamped 252-9-3.

Doing well, Steve --- thank you!

Wow . . . Porsche building its millionth car. Imagine

And kinda surprising, too --- the color . . .

. . . most that I see anymore are silver, black or red

Looks to be a proper 3-pedal, too. Now THAT's amazing!

Wonder if anyone'll ever drive it?

The millionth 911's the same Irish Green as Ferry Porsche's 300003, his favorite color.
