Catalog of Porsche Greens

I had my car color matched to the original Velvet Green code 62162L. See below for pictures and for the color recipe.

I confirmed the Porsche velvet green (62162) is not the same as VW velvet green (L512).

See below. The Porsche version looks more blue green than the more military green VW version.

The car is about to go off for paint/bodywork and will be color matched to the original paint.

Some more green for you. You mentioned earlier in the thread that you thought Emerald & Viper Green were perhaps the same. This is Viper Green Metallic, and I believe it is the same as Emerald Metallic. Paint to Sample '86 Carrera. Depending on the lighting, it can look cold or warm.

Thanks. Unfortunately Rick, I don't have that. I saw an SC charge of something like $820, but I really don't know how much it cost in the 80's. I've reached out to Porsche to see if they can give me any information on the ordering of the car.

I recently wanted to buy a small quantity or Irish Green to touch up a well used example. My choice was a simple PPG acrylic enamel, but the large chain paint store had no formula for Irish Green in enamel. Only modern basecoat/clearcoat, or perhaps single stage urethane. Old formulas for lacquer were there, but the ingredients are obsolete (lead) and don't translate to enamel.

If a good formula for enamel exists, I'd like to get a copy and have a sample made. Locally available PPG would be my 1st choice.
