Thread: Interior color codes

  1. #31
I was hoping someone called help me with a few interior questions?

I am in the strip down and research phase of a 1970 911T restoration...I have found allot of information on the net but I have been struggling to properly identify the interior colour..I don't have a Kardex for the car....The car was Australian delivered and it had the Recaro sports seat option with the leatherette basket weave insert and perforated sides.

    Qusetion 1
Can someone tell me if these seats are Brown or Beige? As I believe both colours were available? They are faded which probably doesn't help...
Can you still source the correct basket weave and Leatherette to match this? As I want the restoration to be as close to the original as I can get it...

    Qusetion 2
The original carpet in this car had been changed to an ugly black shag pile but during the strip down I found some Brown Purlon which I believe was an option on the T ?
Can you still get the Brown Purlon? I have hunted around and can only seem to find charcoal like the trunk material?

    Thanks Rob.

That looks beige to my eyes. Talk to Tony Garcia at Autobahn Interiors.

    Bjorn,

Great Kardex! The fact that you have a Piech family member's name and address on your car's build sheet is priceless.

    Put it in safe place

I got some new info from the factory today regarding the 98xy interior codes; 1<y>7 & 1<x>4 where x is red, black, brown & beige in that order as we already knew. I need help translating the rest from the original German, can anyone help translate please. PM me.

Today I have added the F, G & K codes to the first post in the thread. Still have to confirm the code for gray.
