Excellent -- thanks for that! I started following Motorcycle roadracing just when Sheene was world champ and the video brought back some good -- and bad -- memories. His battles with Roberts were some of the best ever!

Thanks so much -- that was great. In 1974 James Hunt came out to Laguna to drive in the F5000 race for Dan Gurney's AAR and the Can-Am/F-1 match race for Don Nichols. I was a long-haired 17 year-old with a 3-day paddock pass and he seemed to take a liking to another freak, posing for a couple of Kodachromes (I've got to get a slide scanner one of these days). He was a real wild-man both on and off the track, very intense, always in motion. Not a sponsor-shill at all, unless you were selling cigarettes, cocaine, or perhaps penicillin ("Sex, Breakfast of Champions")...

    Awesome - thanks!

Glory days....these guys were my heroes when I was growing up. There will never be others like them; the era is gone and won't be back .

I still go weak at the knees when I see footage and pics of Barry Sheene...yeah it's a girl thing I know!

If you haven't read this - get a copy and find a quiet corner and enjoy the ride.
