    BIG smile, indeed...

Jack, when you have a moment...may we hear some of the details? (engine specs, etc)
I - for one - would enjoy hearing what mods went into this car.

    Cheers

PS - '55 Connies are rare enough...but, how many Connies were equipped with Sunroofs? Is that a Golde sunroof?

    I like it, Jack.

    That's a right proper Outlaw.

    Please share some interior shots.

You bet, Thom. It's got a Skirmant's tweaked "C" motor with big bore, somewhat aggresive cam (but more streetable than rod-able), C gearbox (stock gearing), 12V, disc brakes all around, and yes, it's a Golde s/r that came from the factory. It's # is 54222, which makes it next to last Pre-A built. It was delivered to Max Hoffman in late '55 (Production date 10-55 according to letter from factory). It was in pretty rough shape when I bought it in '94, although amazingly straight and rust free. Roy Smalley (Eurowerks.com) did a terrific job of making it what it is today. I kept the original silver/red scheme, although instead of the original vinyl I had installed full leather. I installed 4 1/2 x 15 wheels with 165 tires. I'll take some interior shots when I get some time and post them. My good friend Rod Emory thought enough of it to personally install one of his Outlaw badges. Made me proud!

    Thanks again!

I met Roy Smalley two years ago at the Lit Meet and had the pleasure of flipping through his scrapbook. He is a very nice and very talented guy.

Yes, Roy is a great guy and does terrific work. He has restored probably a half dozen cars for me over the years and they have all been spectacular. He's also been a very good friend for over 30 years.
