Thanks, no tank yet. Looking for a complete 1972 system. I suppose I have to modify the 72 tanks filler neck and hopefully it will fit.
The position is somwehat yours and KJ's measures "interpolated". The edge is too hard to bump so I am planning on building up with a flexible ring and JB weld. Not exactly like the pic but somewhat.

    Thanks Raj.

The second prototype is all set and done, shown at the end of the thread. I am working on a third tank now which should cover all the little details of this mysterious tank. Trying to get it as exact as possible.

Teveo, if you go with the 72 tank option I can help with the Blau received and cap if needed.

    Best regards,

    Gentlemen,

    Question....
Aren't the finned "R" oil tank caps supposed to be 70mm?
It seems that 70mm to 90mm have been mentioned.
My finned gas cap is 100MM. (seems too large for the oil fill)
I'm about to do this mod on my 72 shortly and want to confirm.

    Thanks.

My cap is around 85 mm outer diamater, the hole is around 94 mm and the fit looks ok.

Hole is still a little crude, will trim it a little and it will perhaps be around 96 mm when finished.

The doors are being adjusted and they'll be nice with polycarbonate windows, leather straps and so.. I'll be using Ernie W.'s pix of Raj's car and try to duplicate the look of those.

Finally bonded the front fenders, would anyone have the correct measures here? I used photoshop and the ruler tool to estimate. I think I got the holes right but have to work with some pix from the side as well to get the park and flasher in space.

I mocked up and think the holes came in fine, I may have to move the park and flasher closer to the air holes though. The mobilcam does not make a vey good pic.

Some fitting of fenders still left, then off to the paintbooth.
