Thread: Chassis Sheet Metal Thickness

    Chassis Sheet Metal Thickness

I was wondering if the dashboard steel is the same gage as the steel sheet metal used for the chassis panels. Does anyone have the specs for chassis and bodywork sheet metal?

What brought the question on was wondering how much stiffness a dash bar would add to my car if I added one to my cage. Probably not much since my cage is not tied in to the suspension pivots/mounts so the cage would be stiffer but not the car as a whole.

    Thanks for any help.
