My 68 911L has hand throttle. Mag cases strated in early 68. Some early 68 had the hand made engine grill like the 67. So a lot of these changes of the 1969 car were started in 1968. These are a few of the corrections I saw on the posts. Regards Chris

The '69 gauges (threaded studs + clamps) are the same size as the '70-on versions.

One more significant change just hit me as I walking around a 69 in the shop today. Replaceable park and tail lenses!

I own a 69E coupe (body #21 built by Porsche, not Karmann) and it is a US market car. No ID tag on the A pillar. Does seem to have a few carry over parts from the SWB cars... Things like seatbelt anchors on rear package try area by the back window, etc. Can't remember off the top of my head but I know I've run across other odd things about it. It has an earlier non-locking ignition switch but I don't know if that has anything to do w/the 69MY cars or not. Still learning as I go with its restoration...

Wow! Great response to this thread so far.

When I get the chance, I will try to post a summary of what is up here to date, bucketing the info appropriately (engine, body, accessory parts, etc against 'first', 'only', and 'first and only'). I would love for this to become a reference thread for owners, buyers, and enthusiasts.

The 69 MFI pumps are unique with having 2 solenoids but I am interested in Raj's comment about the S pump being particularly special. I thought, but may be wrong, that E and S pumps were basically the same inside apart from the space cam and some adjustment variations. Does the S pump have bigger plungers etc?

That's true, '69 has the start-up solenoid in addition to the cold-start. The S pump however is not that different from the E. The space cam is different, that's it. I have had both apart and used 69E pumps for RSR conversions like Raj mentioned could/would only be done with 69S pumps.

[In fact any of the '69-73 pumps can be modified but that's another thread.]

I also heard that the door pockets on a 69 is one year only. something about the shape of them. Is this true?
