    1972 911S Should I buy??

    Hi
    I have the posibility to buy a 1972S localy(2km away ...)
It has been rebuilt to a 935 look, with lots of plastic, really wide Fuchs(replicas??) ..
It has a 1972T or E MFI engine that has been rebuilt to a 2,7(RS spec??) in Germany before the car was imported to Norway.
The car has rust in the rockers(outer and inner?) Front pan is perfect.
I don't weld myself, and I'm not qualified to say how big job it is, and how expensive it would be.
I consider to buy the car, keep the engine and transmision, and sell the 1972S roller to a person thet has the posibility to restore it.
    Two questions:
    1. What can I pay for it?
    2. What is the roller worth? Anyone interested?

    Thanks

    1. Everything you mention indicate that the car is not worth very much as a base to restore. Changed body work, rust, non-matching engine are just the beginning. If your goal is to break even, beware of how much you pay.

    2. Post some pictures.

We really do need more information to form any sort of rational opinion.

My damn crystal ball is in the shop again and while I can tell you got something on your mind, I can't tell what it is…

Wow, I love lobster velour interiors, but not on that car!

The car is not worth anything more than the salvage value of the parts, say $3000, IMHO. The body is a HUGE project.

I say, shop for a clean original body, first, and always.

I think you need to by this car, drive it to your best friend in the whole world (that owns a -67 S and a -71 S) and give the car to him. As a gift....for free....

The 1980's were a brutal time for our beloved longhoods...I see two things going for this car from the pictures...the VIN and the tachometer...maybe Tennster and his crew in Thailand could save it for something approaching a 'reasonable' price...at least the VIN is now part of the Registry database...
