Thread: 1972 911S Should I buy??

  1. #11
Manu, it actually looked a lot like my project, but at least I still had the original plastic gas tank and a lot of other S specific parts....

It is really sad, imagine that someone once cut of the nice original rear quarters to replace by the horrific 935 rears.

I'm still an optimist, I think the car is possible to save and I'm willing to give it a try. It requires a LOT of money to finish, but I have gathered a lot of parts, including two 72S engines!

    Thanks,

    Johan

So...there is a DP Troll out there building this cars, and THEN sell them to me....? Got to go Troll hunting.....

Funny thing this plastic fantastic cars, the shell does not get any worse just because they been dressed up whit new plastic wings. Usualy not more work restoring a car like this, if you got the parts.
My two 911 S is both IROC...not done by me (original pre 911 S) but changing wings and fenders is done in no time. Not often you find a -72 S shell for boulding a ST or taking it back to original car.
If i hade room, space and money Alf.....this car was not going to leav Norway. But as you know, i have a good wife and do like to keep here.....one more old 911 now and she will wonder if i am selling drugs (or use..)

Alf will chime in, but this car is in good hands and will be restored back to stock.

Given the prices people are paying for long hood S cars this one might be restorable. It might even be possible to make a couple of dollars.
