Thread: Restoring ex- Michael Piech 911S 2.0 1969

    Hi,

    the work with the 911S proceed, soon only the engine and chassi to dismantle and I hope that I found all rust now?!

    As you see I need to buy a lot of panels, any suggestions where to buy? Preferable in europe.

    Engine lid in Abarth style, for increased ventilation of engine. The car has been used for racing or rally in Wien, Polizei Motor Sport! Any info on the cars history is most welcome.

    Hi all,

    The dismantling of the S goes rather good, I hope that I found the last rust hole yesterday- small hole in the parcel shelf.
    First panels arrived from Stoddard, looks good, more to come from other suppliers.

    I'll come back with pictures.

    In Denver, Co there are very steeply crowned roads and city streets with storm drains along the roadside. With any rain storms, snow melt or flooding of any kind, the storm drains had a hard time keeping up with the volume of water. Consequently the right hand side of the cars were constantly in water in those conditions while the left hand side remained relatively dry. I saw this time and again when living in Denver for college. I also had a 55' speedster and was keenly aware of how wet only one side of the car was. I've chased many Denver Porsches and VW's over the years and saw this phenomenon many times: left good right bad. This still does not explain your problem

    Engine out

    Hi,

    the work proceed with the dismantling of the 911, engine is now out! Rather easy work compared to other cars I restored, same layout as my racing Abarth 1000TC.
