This is my pet peve to say the least With Porsche Cars North America, The CofA is crap and not worth the paper it is printed on, oh they give that warm fuzzy welcome to the club feeling. BUT look at what they call it, there is no authinticy in that thing, years wrong, targas as coupes & coupes as targas, Oh and we can blame it on the interperptation. Well dont interpert anything Screw the fancy smancy paper and give us a copy of the Kardex that has the real information on it.
500527 has it right, I also have a 67 250S, simple ask for it they give it to you, hell I have a 64 International Harvester Scout and they will also send you a build ticket. Porsche used to and maybe that is what burns me up used to be able to get it but no more and if you never got one well I guess you dont miss it.
I am under the impression that this is a Porsche NA thing the ROW or the most part of it can still get a Kardex, some BS about our lawyered up way of life that the Kardex could expose the private party's name that ordered a car although a large % of the builds were dealer destination.
I got a Kardex in about 76 for a 58 A coupe and I think it was free, I bought a Cof A about 10 yrs ago what crap, I have not and will not buy one for any of the other cars. I would pay for a Kardex though, even a faxed copy.
Yes they will correct it when you point out the problems, but I think the general thought behind the CofA was that PNA was going to inform you about your car.
The next mod will be to just let you pick your own information on line and then the big option will be to let you pick what you want it printed on, paper, leather or for the real fan the virgin lamb skin, for that perfect place on your wall to hang something that does not mean crap but looks good.
Ok rant over. Just my $.02

No matter how bad they are , it is better than nothing. And in some cases worth a bunch to an owner . Go read my post : "Car history , getting a report can be worthwhile" .
European Collectibles would have been VERY wise to get a COA on the car I gave an example of. After reading the post. Search this forum for that cars VIN , and you will see what I mean.
Tried to sedn you a pm but box is full, drop me a pm with email add if you would or let me know if you cleared space.
