    1968 911L project

Hi guys, wanted to share the project that myself and a few friends are starting. Got the urge for an early car and came across this 68L thanks to the ESR.

She was delivered a few weeks ago after sitting indoors for a few years. We plan to de-flare her along with the rest of the metal repairs. Replacements will be a little less than a R flare.

Originally Bahama yellow, she's got resale red on her now. Plan is to probably go with an earlier 356 or vw green.

We'll have our hands full a while with general metal repair before we can start with the fun parts...

Power will be 2.2 or 2.4 with EFI and individual throttle bodies.

Some of the 68 only interior bits were included, but I'll have to source many more, along with a good selection of patch panels. We'll fabricate what we can't find.

Any leads toward a 901 size engine fan (included one was chipped), front bumper, rear license panels, hood latch and receiver, and any other SWB bits I could use would be greatly appreciated. I do plan on leaving the car in its SWB wheel base.

Glad to share the info, Thanks!

    John,

Think about going with the original Bahama Yellow. It's a beautiful color when fresh.

Is it the picture, or is that almost orange?

Hmmm, car may have LWB arms, these look cast to me...didn't think of sticking a magnet to them while I was taking pictures in the trailer. Was wondering how it had adjustable spring plates...

School bus yellow rules! My '68 is that color now and when it was new. I'd like to get fresh paint on it someday.

I'm not sold on the yellow yet....but I have time to decide.

I have various greens in mind. This is the front runner right now. Think its L11 or L14 vw green.

L14 is a fantastic color, I have a buddy who has a '59 Bug painted in that color.
