    I thought my '27 piece was the GP, but was this one instead.

    detail from a magazine about the 1950 event. this clarifies the intent for the small version of the badge.

    'Nürburgring Andenken'

    = Nürburgring Momentos

    Wagenplaketten = car badges
    Motorradplaketten = motorcycle badges ---- the small badge? . . . I think you're exactly right, Jerry
    Anstecknadeln = stick-pins
    Broschen = broaches ---- !!!
    Photo-Karten = postcards

    An allen Auffahrten des Nürburringes und durch die Nürburgring G. m. b. H., erhältlich = Available at all off-ramps of the Nürburgring and through the Nürburgring Co.

    (Thanks, Jerry . . . very cool.)

    And Speaking of Motorradplaketten . . .

    Just arrived today. Damaged item, restored, so colors and finishes may be a bit off . . . $300

    I know of only Donner (and ges.gesch) badges in this size. (--- until I saw post #46 below)

    Check-out the mounting tabs --- compare to the other 'small' badges in posts #12, #21, and #33

    (Really bitchin' little bit . . . )

    Sure enough. Left mountain, too.

    Any ideas about when Biedermann&Co made these? And did they make the larger size, as well?

    Just a Badge . . .

    Just got an e-mail from Donner, in Wuppertal . . . .

    Dear Rick,

    Thanks for your letter from 21.July 2011. This medal is from our factory, but . . . is very old and I (can't) answer your questions, (as) we have (no) documents . . . and (no one) here in our factory (who) can answer . . . It must be a medal from the 70 or 60 year perhaps, we don´t know.

    Sorry that we (can't) help you.

    Thanks and have a nice day!

    Best regards

    Petra

    Not exactly the definitive response I was hoping for. I'm guessing that anything that took place way back then is either archived in some analog sh!t-pile, walking/stumbling around in someone's head . . .

    . . . Or gone.

    Just a badge . . .
