    Such a Difference!

Thank you everyone for the compliments! I just can't believe she looks so beautiful. In my wildest dreams, I never thought this would happen. I am so very thankful for the people that helped!

I can't take credit for the detailing ... once a year Scott details the 911 for me. When I met him on June 19, 2010, he said the magic words, "The judges will tell you all about your car." That's when the registration was changed from Corral to Concours. When the registration for the 2010 Parade was completed on March 9, Sepia had not even been started. What was I thinking?

The picture below was taken on July 4, 2010 on the Concours in St. Charles. Recently, a Chicago Region judge said, "You won in St. Charles because your car was original, not because she was clean." Now, she's all cleaned up! That old paint sure is shiny.

    Engine Compartment Light

Could you please snap a shot of your engine compartment light,

Clyde, Here are the pictures of the engine compartment light. It is marked Hella. The cover for the bulb is a bit rusty. I guess I should have that cleaned and replated. But, it is on the bottom of the list of things to do. I should probably replace the bulb; but, I have a tendency to leave it on. I've had too many dead batteries because I was "playing" with it and forgot to close the slide.

I have followed this thread with some admittedly cynical skepticism, and did not get to see Candyce's car at St Charles as I was judging 356s.
Her win and her car this year is even more signifigant in that she outscored one of the best groups of preservation cars, some with past Parade wins, our group of judges had ever seen.
Her car is the definition of "preservation" and a loving tribute to her husband.

    Candyce,

You are so deserving of the awards you recieved for Sepia at the Parade. As soon as I saw your car in the prep area, I knew there couldn't possibily be any doubt that you would recieve top honors.

The story Manny told at the Concour banquet of your 'hitchhike' back to Traverse to drive your car into the banquet hall, prior to dinner, was just classic and one more part of your amazing story. Bravo!

PS for those who didn't hear that story I'm sure our members here would enjoy hearing it Candyce.

Congratulations, you and your car may be the best thing that has happened to the world of Sepia Brown cars. All Sepia cars went up at least 10% in value today!

    Congratulations, Ms Candyce . . . .

I am sooooo NOT a Concours Guy --- so I love to hear that someone who's relatively new to the wonderful/wacky world of Q-tips + plastic sheeting comes through with a solid/winning performance --- and with a car that they've prepared themselves, no less . . . and have more than just a professional interest in

I hope that we get to see more photos of your lovely Sepia --- especially while she's still there, on the display grounds . . .

And take/share a pic of your trophy, too
