Thread: 68 rearview mirror restoration

  1. #61
hello all- any one know if there was a 67 1/2 (late) mirror assy. When I got my July 04/1967 build 912 it had a chrome stem and a '68 style mirror (black plastic) head. Maybe a PO had mated a '68 to the 67 stem. The stem has a large ball to fit into the '68 mirror head. The reason I think it might be factory is that I have perused '67 cars for sale and some have the black plastic head. Also my '68 style head was completely sun damaged with the plastic failing/cracking and useless. There was a '67 911s (silver) sold on BAT 10/4/18 that has the chrome '67 stem and a black mirror head.

oops- I just did a search and it seems these combo mirrors were used on late 67 S's.
