When the car was first taken apart it was soda blasted in the wheel wells and engine compartment as well as the front pan. New Wurth undercoating was applied after the metal work was performed and primed. The car was sprayed with primer and block sanded three different times to get it all perfect. The paint is Glasurit and the entire car was painted body color. Engine compartment and the wheel wells and bottom will be painted over in black. I did this to be factory correct and as the black wears off I wanted the silver to come through just as would from the factory.

Some shots of the under coating. The first 50 or so 72S's are documented to have come with fiberglass front bumpers but I'm using a steel one for durability and if I put a fiberglass one on it wouldn't be an original Porsche part anyway.

Now it's getting fun! Shots of the clear. Best of Show has a Glasurit mixing center at the shop and not that they needed it but the Glasurit factory rep was there to see the work.

Picked up the new oil lines from Porsche Germany. For all of you 72 owners out there 40 pairs of these lines are sitting on the shelves in Germany. And they are a lot cheaper than you think. I can't tell you what I paid because I get VIP pricing from Sunset Porsche but they are cheaper than $500.00 dollars each. Just save me one more pair because I'm going to buy one more set. Shipping is free to your local dealer from Porsche Germany if you didn't already know that. My matching numbers engine and transmission. I have the white wing nuts for the air cleaner but have not put them on yet. The engine will go to Rothsport for break in and set up on Jeff's engine dyno. The MFI pump was rebuilt by Mark Jung of MFI works.
