Thanks for all the kind words, and it was great to meet some of the faces behind the names at Ski Roundtop.

As I mentioned to some of the guys at the swap,... my manufacturers made a couple of interesting comments while we've been in process on the rack. The owner of the company that did the welding asked if he could make the welds a "little nicer and cleaner" than the original (I told him "no").. and my chrome plating shop looked at the NOS original and said "looks like a lick and a prayer" in commenting on the original plating job that was done. Please note that the plating shop is the same one that does my muffler tips (and all my other items), and is probably the most noted shop in the Northwest for the work they do for show cars and bikes.

Price shortly....waiting on the brackets to be finished.

I think I need one too:

Only the straps are left, but I still have the export plate...

As a recent purchaser and recipient of Eric's roof rack I will reconfirm what others have said: the rack is in every way the image of the original (one of which I also have). Fit and finish are a perfect replication. Of course, none of this should come as a surprise for those of us accustomed to Eric's uncompromised comittment to the purpose!
    Thank you Eric!

Thanks for all the nice comments!

It doesn't appear the price is mentioned, which is $925. It's on my website. Includes the white rubber strips. I'll "comp" the straps to all the current purchasers when I finally figure out how to do them correctly. Note that the leather straps are not done as I've not found a correct buckle, and it appears I'm going to have to make one. The original buckle is stamped, the current closest buckle is cast and that simply doesn't work for me...

    Thank you!

Anybody got photos or an explanation of how the original luggage straps were used?
