    Georgia Region Introduction

We have established a Georgia Region for the Early 911S Registry and hoping to increase the membership as well as having events of our own and also to participate in other auto events in our area. Currently we have a core group of longhood owners that meet for lunch each month, occasionally go on drives in the North Georgia Mountains and most of us also participate in a local car show -Caffeine and Octane (C&O) that is held on the first Sunday morning of each month. C&O has had some problems in finding a place to hold the event and they are currently at Northview High School in Johns Creek. That’s a long way for our some of us but it does give us a chance to drive our Porsches a little further. Myself and a friend and fellow Longhooder – Doc Jewell will be at the next show, barring unfriendly skies, and would like to meet you all. Were not limiting participation to longhoods, just anyone who has an interest or wants to hang out with some enthusiasts. We will probably try to get together for a lunch in a friendly parking lot in the near future. One order of business will be to come up with a name for our group. The other to have a good time. Leave Roberts Rules of Orders behind. Were informal, love our Porsche’s and enjoy like minded folks. If you have any questions feel free to post here or contact us direct.

    Bill,

I don't know if we've met before, but count me in on this group, thanks for taking the lead.

I spoke to Doc at C&O earlier this month and he said he is racing at the HSR event this weekend at Road Atlanta.

If anyone is planning to go to the track this weekend to spectate, let's sync up as an inaugural group event.

My neighbor around the corner is the Southern Region 356 Registry president who just bought a beautiful 68 912. I may try to caravan up to track on Saturday with him. I'll probably be around Turn 10a/b with my car. if I don't hear from anyone.

Thank you Chuck for creating a GA Region thread. We've been very active in the last few years.

We have a lunch on the third Wednesday of every month (~11:30). The current location is Food 101 on Roswell RD (just south of I-285). Everyone is invited.

We always meet at the Caffeine and Octane car event on the first Sunday every month. We always park together.

We have a Christmas party (lunch) every year.

    S/T. Patty's:

We also have a few ~semi-organized drives into the difficult apexes in the north GA mountains.

I was fired by the group from leading the Porsche parade after this happened (sorry, guys):

It's an air-cooled group (but water-cooled cars are certainly welcome). We talk about all things Porsche.

Bill, I am thinking that the Geogia Outlaws would be good? It's a salute to the 356 Outlaws...

And thanks also to Mark and Bryce. You guys are great fun.

    Doc,

Thanks for the pics. I recognize the group shot location

If any GA folks ('Outlaws' works... ) are making the trip for RRIV, let's sync up at the track.

    Chuck,
I apologize to Michael. Thanks Michael. We welcome your input to make this better. We are swimming without a rudder.

And Chuck, is it wrong to say that blue longhoods are the fastest color?

And a special heads-up to Byrce and his 2nd owner documented paper-work 911S:

Mark's (merbersfield) 73S. I had to think for a moment about the license plate...

Followed by Doc's 'probably couldn't follow it onto Neel's Gap' North Georgia barn stormer.

Getting back into these cars here in Atlanta, I've met some great guys. A number of lurkers out there, and I've learned about a number of quiet collections of these early cars around North Georgia that need to get some more exercise!
