For sale an original 1970 Tangerine 914-6, VIN # 9140431057. This car is a rare piece of Porsche history owned by the current owner for the last 30 years. Car is in excellent shape and ready for enjoyment by a new owner. The car was prepared for PCA autocross racing in the mid to late 80’s and competed successfully into the early 90’s, then the focus of the car changed and it was used for in town pleasure drives. Engine/Transmission: The car has a balanced and blueprinted PCA legal 2.0L T engine built by Ed Mayo at Mayo Performance. The engine is built on a 2.0L S case and is equipped with a non-counter weighted crankshaft, lightened flywheel and clutch, correct Weber carbs, 1 ½” headers and a sport muffler. The engine was dyno tested at 110 HP/ 120 Torque. The original engine parts including near perfect heat exchangers and new 914-6 muffler have been retained; see below. The transmission is a correct tailshifter 901 and has been rebuilt and is in good working order.

Suspension/Chassis: This car was set up for PCA autocross and is equipped with 914-6 GT chassis reinforcement kit, 19mm front sway bar, turbo tie rod ends, 21 mm front torsion bars, 140 lb rear springs, Koni adjustable shocks, brake cooling ducts, and has a lower ride height for a lower center of gravity.

Wheels/ Tires: Current wheels are 5 -14” Fuchs with Kumho 205/60/14 street tires. The original chrome steel 15” wheels have been retained; see below.

Interior/ Exterior: The black interior is in excellent shape and comes equipped with a black Scheel model 114 sport seat, a harness bar, Simpsons five point red harness sets, and a 911S combo gauge with separate fuel gauge under the dash. The original seatbelts are included with the car. The ‘dog bone’ and center compartment are still present and all the original interior parts and pieces have been retained; see below. The car was taken down to bare metal and repainted by Dan Butts of German Technology Inc in 1988 and is in excellent shape. The car has been converted to European styling and comes equipped with genuine Euro turn signal housings and lenses, correct euro insignia, painted body color jack plugs, custom mud flaps, 914-6 GT double grill engine lid finished body color, fiberglass GT Racing front and rear bumpers and fiberglass rocker panels. All the original exterior parts, bumpers, valances and wheels have been retained; see below. The car also includes a complete original tool kit and jack in excellent shape and the USA 914-6 owner’s manual.

The car is in excellent condition and has always been stored inside. This long time Texas car has no rust issues, with all 914 know rust areas in as new condition. The battery tray was replaced when the car was repainted. This car has a known PCA parade autocross history from the 80’s and 90’s.
