    Mysterious red wire

I've had my entire car's electrical system removed for about three years while the body underwent a complete renovation and paint job. Now that that part is finished, I've reassembled the electrical system. However, I can't seem to figure out where this little red wire goes. The car is a 1969 Porsche 911 S coupe. Can anyone here help me?

Frederick, could this be from a switch to have the light come up when you pull on the switch? it looks so short, I can't think of anything else

I believe that assessment is correct. I restored a 69E and recall this wire being a loop wire on the back of the dash pull switches for fog lights or defroster etc.

Here you can see the red wire in the photo I took when disassembling my dash. Looks to be the defroster switch, but I think they are used on a number of switches. Sorry for the photo quality. Name: IMG_0048.jpg
