Thread: A lucky eBay find: NOS SWB Coil

  1. #21
I couldn't help myself this afternoon and spend some time on the computer drawing up my own artwork for the decal. I have an original decal I scanned to be sure that all proportions and measurements are 100%. There are one or two letters which still need some help. In addition the green is not 100% but I'd say it is pretty close. Feedback appreciated.

What ever happened to these? Were they ever produced?

A good graphic artist is a nice guy to know. They make it look easier than changing a lightbulb.

Anybody paying ????? $25.00 for one should think twice.

Remember: Jesse James used a gun.:roll eyes:

These aren't the "be-all" "end-all" but they they look pretty good.

Sacrificing an original decal, spending hours on illustrator and sourcing correct color paper is so overrated. Manuel and I should have just ripped off somebody elses art work. Learn something new every day.

Btw, be correct when you quote prices. They were 15 each shipped.

Why are you upset? You made of copy of something and so did I? What makes yours any more legitimate?

So you can feel better about your sacrifice I had an original too.

If you want to pick the fly shit out of the pepper why don't we ask Bosch how they feel about "their name" being sold on a piece of paper for which they get NOTHING?

FWIW, Aasse Brothers are selling something that looks a lot like yours and getting $25.00. At $15.00 the margin looked mighty good as these cost me about 10% of that including graphic setup charges.

And as for "class act" doing the right thing should mean charging $15.00, giving $5.00 or $10.00 to Bosch, and still making a profit. In my world the bonus is helping someone with their car.

I've been playing with these cars since I was 17 and I've seen a lot come and go in the 41 years since then. What I've seen go that hurts the most is the cameraderie where guys used to give their time and trivial stuff like this away without a second thought as to "making money".

I hardly recognize the hobby anymore. Many of the hobbyists I know feel the same.

I'll give these away before I sell them. This was a quick exercise for me as I've done it many times for vintage motorcycles. It is not rocket science.

BTW: If somebody copies them who am I to complain? It wasn't mine in the 1st place. Never was.

Class act?? You're being gentle! AASE doesn't sell digital "copies", neither does Stoddard, or any of them. Thanks to people like you we have access to decals, stickers, and other products that are no longer available from the source, as close to the original as I've ever seen. I've bought your products, and will continue to do every time I want the best quality, even if others give them away. Keep up the good work!!

    Tom,

I do not need to be lectured by a guy like you about camaraderie. Do your homework.

Take your rant about "making money" to Stoddard, NLA, Eric Linden and all the other businesses selling parts to sustain our hobby.

    As i said, class act!
