...yes Rick, it was painted ascot grey metallic by RUF, but second owner made it repainted (in poor quality) to white. RUF even made a new paint code tag about it in '84, pls see in picture "BMW 237". But mistery is there because code number of this colour at BMW is 151 (by my quick search on the net, maybe have been mistaken). Please tell if anyone could find out why...

...the engine code# absolutely clearly reads 911.83 (to me in real, maybe not as much in the picture)...interestingly 911.83 instead of the usual 911/83. Why? Please tell if anybody of You knows it. Maybe replacement, newly bought from Porsche non-numbered 2.7 Carrera cases were distinguished so from the rest? This car is full of misteries...And those questions were not yet replied by RUF although asked them about last week...also car's original colour. I don't know how to arrange "birth certificate" from here although we have Porsche Centre here, too, but they're only dealing with "new car buyers", also absolutely distalented in anything called Porsche older than 10 years... ...only the front seats have been reupholseted with new leather since '84, but seems as if new leather put over old, also unfinished, holes of headrest not even punched through. No problem, I decided to restore it anyway thanks to your opinions/ feedbacks, to concourse level inside out, incl. engine's disassembly, check, etc.

    Too cool.

That burgundy interior is magic, good against the white and could be even better against the former silver/grey.

Paint tag of "BMW 057" is a color code that equates to POLARIS METALLIC on the Glasurit site...appears to be a silver color...intriguing...

Hi Peter,...but it reads better "BMW 257" as far as I can read although with eyes not of an eagle anymore.

[QUOTE=Soterik;543476]I'm going to talk to the guy who paid to have the work done.... Michael Lederman is a good friend, I'd like to know exactly "what he was thinking" when he had this done!

...please be so kind to ask him. I would really like to hear what he knows of that car from before its conversion, also of its owner then Mr. Marinelli. Thank you in anticipation.

Sam, thanks for showing us the pictures and documentation, that is a very unique, one of a kind car. And the best part is that it wasn't done by some hack shop! I hope you'll enjoy the car as it is! I know I certainly would!!

I'm betting the top is from an '84 Carrera Cabriolet, especially considering the build sheet...
