    1973 911 S...What would you do?

Just finishing a 10 year project...But the engine may need a rebuild.
    What would you do?
2.4, 2.7, or 2.2 pistons ala bruce anderson? low compression? high compression?

Downsides to anything other than stock?

    Thanks
    Joe

If it's number matching I would rebuild it as a 2.4 or alternatively put the case away and build a new engine to whatever hot rod spec that you desire.

Whatever you decide to do be sure to drive the wheels off the car. Love the paint job.

Great car Joe, keep it as stock as possible.

And please tell me about that car lift. Who makes it?

Joey I guess I'm on the other side of this discussion. The 73 S may have been a fast machine in its day, but a few extra Hp would be welcome today. Using a higher compression piston will make the car more enjoyable. we all know you like to go fast

A 2.7 RS spec motor is what I'd do. Once you drive that motor there's not going back for me. It's an easy mod for a 2.4 and still looks 100% factory stock. My second option would be to keep it stock.

    Joey,

I've had all 3, the 2.2 version was by Chris Powell, the 2.4 was still factory, and the 2.7 was Andial and was the best of that bunch. But my favorite is a 2.5 I had from Jeff Gamroth.

    Just my .02!

I'd put the numbers matching motor on a shelf, and build a 2.5 or 2.7 hotrod motor for the car.

matching numbers on shelf....build a hot rod ..

wondering about that lift..its not hi enuf to stand erect and work on car....and if you lower it,, to sit and work, its just like jack stands?

am I not seeing its virtues?...
