    This one is pretty close to Sb specs if it does not have fibreglass panels. Some lights, window winders, a few instruments and it should be pretty close to logbookable.

    Would it be possible to run 12.5:1 compression on a single plug motor even with race fuel as the ad on the samba claims ?

    Rob,

    I think the quick 2.7's are running those levels.

    Also, 12.5:1 pistons doesn't necessarily mean 12.5:1 compression. Heads and cylinder spacing affect actual comp ratios. From memory, high overlap cams can also reduce effective/dynamic comp ratios too.

    Need the opinion of a mechanic to be 100% sure what could be achieved. At that higher compression though it would not be pump fuel here in Australia.

    I'll hand the answer over to more qualified people!
