Thread: Best (not most common) soft window targa body color...?

Best (not most common) soft window targa body color...?

My car is at paint right now...so it is decision time. Color original to the car was Gemini Blue. I have gone back and forth sooo many times on color. As the car has been restored as original (correct numbers), there is an obvious benefit to repainting the car Gemini Blue. My first color choice was Guards Red, and a close second was black. I love Cornpanzer's beautiful 72 coupe just posted for sale...the Gemini Blue looks great. I need some last minute direction here. I will be running with traditional 15x7 fuchs all around, and a black soft window, with the brushed aluminum bar. Stay original or take the leap...show us some pics please....

stay original unless you really dislike the color. Black is not my favorite due to high maintenance to keep it looking good.

Agree, keep it original, you'd regret it later otherwise

    From the Arm Chair:

Gemini Blue is actually a nice hue on the early 911s...from my perspective, I think it's even nicer on Targas because of the contrast of blacks, polished, and matte-finished pieces (top, windshield trim, outer roll bar cover, & fuchs, etc)

I don't think you'd regret staying with this blue - in the long run. That said, I totally get your goings back & forth on colors I ended up shooting my own 911 in a VW light Ivory - worked out pretty well.

Good Luck and Happy New Year

    Cheers
    r/Thom

    Keep it original because:
    1. Great color in the flesh
    2. Fits perfectly on the 911
    3. Remains quite rare and is sought after
    4. It's not Sepia Brown!
    5. It's the car's original color

Reasons for not keeping it in its original color:
    1. Because it's your car and you must enjoy it
    2. Because leaf green is a beautiful color on a Targa

Original or not, Gemini is a great colour. I'm not a proponent of keeping it original always but if mine were originally Gemini, that's one I'd keep original.
PS. I'm a real sucker for blue. There just aren't enough of them on the road.

Gemini blue is such a lovely color, keep it original. Fantasy Junction has a '73 for sale that may sway your paint decision.
    Lots of nice photos:
