Thread: Best (not most common) soft window targa body color...?

  1. #11

I feel like I am asking my parents... what the right thing to do would be...

And they respond with the same sort of..."well, this is what we encourage, but we're sure you'll make the right decision". Ok,ok,ok. Gemini Blue it is. First pic is going away...spending time with it's new friend "the painter" and the second pic is where I got her. Weird thing is...the second picture (which is not Gemini Blue) almost looks like the car was in better shape than when I sent it away for paint...not. The build is over on PP if you are interested.
There was a little work in between those two pictures. I won't bore you with the details. Suffices to say...we'll be going Gemini Blue.

I LOVE Gemini Blue, but my favorite Softie color is probably Irish Green.

My favorite all-time Porsche color, however, is still Dalmatian Blue.

A 71 Softie is so rare, keep it original, and the color is also GREAT!! Just my $.02 cents worth, and I had 73 that was that color, and it is very cool.

Gemini Blue and silver vs black lense trim

We are at paint right now...so good time for this question to come up. Was the lense trim during 70-71 silver? I have seen both black and silver on Gemini Blue cars. Is it a difference between US and Europe? Funny as I seem to sense a corelation between the color of the rear lid emblem and the trim on the lenses. Does it even matter? For some absurd reason I am trying to keep the car (visually) correct...well, sort of at least.

Lens trim was silver through 72. I think you see a lot of black trim lenses because they were more commonly available aftermarket.

My take is that silver trim looks better than black for Gemini Blue cars so it will look great. Your rear script on rear will be all gold. Chris
