Value of a set of sport seat with locker box frames from a 1970S

A friend of mine has an original set of sport seats out of his long lost 1970 911S. The seats will most likely need to be recovered and the frames refinished tp make them like new. Any idea about the value of these.

I'm sure everyone here will have their own opinion, depending on whether or not they're interested in buying them
to get an idea of value, do a search. here and on pelican. lots of examples out there. that will give you a very good picture of selling prices. that said, I will give this input. sport seat prices haven't been this low in a long time. unless your friend needs the $$ right now, he'd do well to wait a while.

$2500 to $3000 as a current estimate. Depends on how bad somebody needs them for a project. Expect prices to rise a bit as we get closer into Spring and projects are wanted to get onto the road. Some pretty good reproductions of the seats are being done now, and there's another version coming soon from what I understand (not me...).

I just picked up the seats this morning from Bennie.. They will clean up pretty nice... Been sitting in storage for almost 30 years!! He said he only had them in the car for a few months and put racing Recaro's in the car....They are basket weave centers with leatherette sides (black)...
I will get some pictures posted once I get them cleaned up...

    Eric is spot on.

Last year paid $3500 for 67S Sport Seats that needed more or less completely restored.

Double lockers didn't start in production till roughly 10/72 for 1973 model year. So the earliest 1973 cars still had single locker frames.

Data point. My 11/09/72 production car has single locker bases on the sport seats.

This doesn't sound as though they are needing restoration. In that case they should be worth another $1500, as it is over $2000 to properly restore these with new material.
