Correct cabin painting for a 68

I have read various threads on here about correct paint finishes (Bob Joyce and the 67 Paint thread). I want to check - I am unclear if on the cabin floor after the body colour was applied if they painted that floor satin black when the painted the tunnel or if the tunnel was masked off and painted back with the floor pan remained body colour. I see conflicting points of view. It's a Karmann car if that helps.

I do see layers of black on old floors but is that the old tar based soundproofing or actually black paint?

    Thanks in advance!

Masking was not a technique often seen on the Porsche or Karmann production line.

Correct,,,,takes way too much time on a production line, they're trying to build 30 cars a day, not one a year.
