I'll chime in. I purchased this back in the Spring after looking around for another 911 or 914... or 914/6. With the cost to rebuild a rust bucket I somehow rationalized purchasing this rust free/ crash free 914/6 that has been a race car since the 80s or so. I had thought I'd dial it back and make it a DE / Street toy but have since taken to some vintage racing with it. It is really forgiving on the track and faster than me but I'll grow into it.

Long term plan is to bring it back to original Irish Green and build it into a period correctish Six GT... period correct seats, carpet, lights, windows etc. as a factory prepped race car might look. One thing of interest is the steel flares. They are about 1" wider than typical GT flares. I think these are called Nurburgring flares and believe a few of the factory cars were built like this. It currently has a 2.5 built on a '65 case with a lot of special work done including trick long rods.

Since starting the thread, the center console/speaker has been deleted and replaced by an extinguisher. Have a used but genuine 6 transaxle to compliment the real 6 heat exchangers, oil tank and other bits. Wheels are 15s with 6s and the rear fenders massaged to accommodate 7s. Upgraded the suspension to full polybronze with upgraded shocks and sway bars. Needless to say it is a blast in the corners and has plenty of torque

    Happy New Year

Here's mine....1970 914-6. This car was purchased out of the Portland, OR area a few years back by the prior owner. He spent a not inconsiderable amount of time and money taking it from a race car back to a street car. I bought it in Feb of 2017 and have been trying to get the final sorting done with the help of Marco at TLG. It currently runs a 2.3 built on the original case.
