    'Thin' Windscreens

We have been looking at clear, laminated windscreens for 911s and have learnt the following:

A typical standard screen is made from 2 x 2.5mm thick sheets of glass.

The minimum 'road legal' thickness is 2 x 2.1 mm thick sheets - 12.5% lighter than typical

The minimum thickness that can be made for race cars is 2 x 1.8mm which is 25% lighter that typical

I am thinking about having a few 'light screens' made for race cars.

    I will ask.

Already have normal thickness in clear and heated but will ask about the 'thin' version

    Hi Chris,

what would be the price for a normal thickness and heated in comparaison with a thin "road legal"

As deficient as our defrosters are I don't know why the heated windshield was not standard. I had one in my 81 Turbo and loved it. How hard are they to retrofit?
