Notice how high the steering rack is mounted in a 917...

A hairline crack was discovered in the tubing (bear metal area).

Note the air stem used to pressurize the tubing, this was a way to monitor for stress cracks in the frame.

The 917 frame tubing was also used to carry oil, weight savings among other things...

That would be a 910, but I guess since we have a 917 in the thread why not?

    Now we have at least a photo of a 906, 907 and a 910.

    ps:
Please no 908's, we know what those look like, or do we?

The day I went for a ride in a 906...

...and this is me, in the passenger seat of this 906 that Emory rebuilt. This is at Infineon in Northern California....

    and a McQueen car...

I stopped by the shop today...and there was this very cool, Steve McQueen GT40 in the shop. Looks like it will be auctioned at R&M in Monterey.
So the story goes....at one point this car had its roof cut off, and was used as a "camera car" during filming. (here is a link to info)

    More cool cars....

I'm bumping this thread because I stopped by ths same shop today, during lunch. The 906 is still there, but they also have a Lusso on a rotisserie outside, and the car behind it is an alloy bodied Pegaso...the last Pegaso sports car ever made. Very cool stuff!
